Power Fridays! WURD 900 AM Presents Power FRIDAY's on Friday April 27th:
An evening with Brother Amiri Barka at the Clef Club of Jazz. Amiri Baraka is the author of numerous books, fiction and nonfiction, an activist, scholar, griot and well respected elder. He was named Poet Laureate of New Jersey by the New Jersey Commission on Humanities from 2002-2004. Brother Amiri Baraka will be providing a discussion, reading and book signing from his new book, "Tales of the Out & the Gone." The book spans the early 1970's to the 21st century-most of which has never been published. Books will be on sale for 15.00 dollars each at the event. The Clef Club of Jazz is located at Broad & Fitzwater Streets "736 S. Broad Street", in Philadelphia, and admission is $10.00 with a delicious soul food dinner being served for an additional $10.00 Doors open at 6:00 PM for dinner and the program will begin at 7:00 PM.
